KETTLEBELL BOOTCAMP GROUP CLASSES
THESE ARE NOT YOUR AVERAGE FITNESS CLASSES!
Classes are designed with the same training principles followed in one-on-one training: they ALWAYS ensure maximal work is occurring during the session, EVERY muscle is safely worked - and this equals RESULTS!!! All fitness levels (beginner to elite) will enjoy and benefit from these sessions.
Make It Happen Kettlebell Bootcamp classes are about learning to be comfortable with discomfort. During these group workouts, we will challenge you without compromising your ability to safely conduct the movements used in the workout. We will constantly be ramping up the intensity of your workouts based on your gained proficiency in the exercises. One aspect of how Make It Happen differs from other programs is that you will be held accountable for the goals that you have set for yourself. Your potential is always much more than what you believe it to be and we will continually push you in order for you to receive the results you deserve.
Whether you are a competitive person or not, the Make It Happen group environment is one that cannot be recreated anywhere else. Make It Happen is a coaching facility, not a typical gym that you walk into and use on your own. The only time our members come in is during scheduled classes when our coaches are leading the workout. We have created an environment conducive to empowering our members to push themselves to gain results that were once thought impossible. This is not a facility where we have machines for you to use, we find them to be less efficient than functional exercises.

PARTNER & SMALL GROUP TRAINING
We understand that not everyone new Make It Happen member may be comfortable in our regular kettlebell bootcamp group class.Therefore we offer Partner & Small Group Training (up to 4 individuals) classes to accompany our bootcamp group classes.
Pros of small group personal training:
Cost: If one-one-one or partner personal training packages are just a little much for your budget right now, small group personal training provides an attractive alternative. At approximately $25-50 a session, our group training is a quarter to half the cost of a one-on-one personal training session.
Accountability & Adherence: Just like with one-on-one and partner personal training you have the added benefit of accountability from your trainer. It’s easy to make excuses to yourself and not stay consistent with an exercise program on your own.
The added benefit of small group personal training is you also have accountability to others in your group. This is not to be taken lightly as it’s very effective in helping you stick with a fitness program.
Motivation & Camaraderie: There’s just something to be said about working out with a group of people just like you. When everyone is working hard doing their best and having fun, there’s an abundance of positive energy.
Bottom line is you’ll be more inspired and find yourself looking forward to the workouts instead of dreaded them.
Support: You get built in support when you’re part of a small group personal training program. Once again the benefit of this should not be taken lightly. Support is an integral component for success in seeing results with a fitness or weight loss program.
It’s great if you have support from your family and friends but with a small group personal training program you have support built in from the other participants.

How is online coaching is conducted?

- Video should be no less than 3 min in length.
- Receive feedback within 24-48 hours from the date video submitted via email.
- Customized training programs are delivered through Microsoft Excel and/or Microsoft Word formats.
- Training programs are created on a weekly or biweekly basis and based on periodization principles.

INTEGRATED NEUROMUSCULAR REEDUCATION SOFT TISSUE WORK
What is INMR?
Integrated Neuromuscular Reeducationsm is a “stand-alone” hands-on technique/approach to the evaluation and functional treatment of 90+% of the soft tissue injuries a professional will see in practice by combing effective soft tissue techniques such as neuromuscular reeducation (NMR), post-isometric relaxation (PIR) and positional release therapy (PRT). Every muscle in the body is surrounded by a smooth fascial sheath, every muscular fascicule and fibril are surrounded by fascia that can exert pressures of over 2,000 pound per square inch. When an area is injured, whether it's muscle, connective tissue, fascia, tendon or some combination of these elements (as most injuries are), the body handles this inflammatory response of the tissues to trauma the only way it knows how, through a hyperplasia of the affected tissue followed by a fibrous healing, the laying down of a less elastic, second grade, poorly vascularized scar tissue to protect the involved areas. Adhesions occur wherever damage and inflammation have occurred and they limit both strength and range of motion.
Once there is fibrous healing, these adhesions pull us out of a three dimensional orientation with gravity. As a muscle tendon begins to stretch and encounters an adhesion, the muscle contracts to prevent any further stretching and to protect the area involved.
The result is that the muscles involved are not as strong and the range of motion is limited in the involved joint. Adhesions can affect areas that are quite small, sometimes just a few muscle fibers, and other times there can be a number of areas like that scattered throughout a muscle group.
Most athletes hope they can free adhesions on their own by forceful contractions and stretching, but this maneuver fails because:
The inhibitory feedback signals from the affected area prevent sufficient contracting or stretching to accomplish this, and
The adhesions are not necessarily parallel to the muscle fibers and can lie any direction thereby restricting full range of motion.
Freeing the adhesion is only part of the battle.
"Freeing the adhesion is only part of the battle," according to Dr. Levy. "Each person has a subtle, complex and unconscious perception of his or her own body. When you have pain and limitation of motion due to an injury, you adapt your body image to fit that limitation. This unconscious mental adaptation can often persists long after the injury has been resolved without the 'Reeducation' part of the technique. It isn't enough to clear up a problem, we also have to convince the patients that the problem is gone. Otherwise, they persist in favoring the area that was causing them pain. Patients may often limp for several months after a hip or leg problem has been eliminated, so the most important part of the treatment is in making the patients aware so that they can adapt their new behavior to the new physical reality."
The "reeducation" part of the technique is elegant in its simplicity and efficacy and clients are back to their normal activities in a short order.
This is accomplished by:
1. Working each involved joint through the fullest possible range of motion during each session
2. Sending a client back to the activity that has been causing him or her the problem as soon as possible to demonstrate that the problem has been resolved.

FUNCTIONAL MOVEMENT SCREEN
The Functional Movement Screen (FMS) is an innovative system used by Make It Happen to evaluate movement pattern quality for our members and kettlebell sport athletes. The FMS gives us a simple and quantifiable method of evaluating basic movement abilities. The FMS allows the Make It Happen trainers and coaches to begin the process of functional movement pattern assessment in individuals without recognized pathology. The FMS is not intended to diagnose orthopedic problems but rather to demonstrate limitations or asymmetries in healthy individuals with respect to basic movement patterns and eventually correlate them with outcomes.
The Functional Movement Screen was created by a group of physical therapists and athletic trainers as a means to objectively measure functional movement. Based on an individual’s performance in 7 fundamental movement patterns, they are given a score from 0-3 for each test which will then be totaled for an overall score for the entire screen that can range from as low as 0 up to 21. Trainees who can achieve a perfect score can become members of our exclusive “21 Club”. This is a monumental milestone that only a handful of clients have accomplished, even though we have put hundreds of individuals through the screen. Therefore, our goal is not perfection but rather an elimination of asymmetries and dysfunctions that could inhibit us from reaching your training goals and/or possibly lead to injury.
The Functional Movement Screen provides a strength and conditioning coach or personal trainer with an evaluation option that relates closely to what the athlete or client will actually do in training. In a sense, the tests are improved by working on variations of the skills tested. The FMS allows evaluation with tools and movement patterns that readily make sense to both the client and the trainer or coach.
It has been observed that many individuals who perform at very high levels during activities are unable to perform these simple movements. These individuals should be considered to be utilizing compensatory movement patterns during their activities, sacrificing efficient movements for inefficient ones in order to perform at high levels. If these compensations continue, then poor movement patterns will be reinforced leading to poor biomechanics.
The FMS is an assessment technique, which attempts to identify imbalances in mobility and stability during fundamental movement patterns. This assessment tool is thought to exacerbate the individual’s compensatory movement problems, allowing for easy identification. It is these movement flaws that may lead to breakdown in the kinetic linking system, causing inefficiency and microtrauma during activity. The FMS should be introduced as part of the preplacement/preparticipation physical examination to determine deficits that may be overlooked during the traditional medical and performance evaluations. In many cases, muscle flexibility and strength imbalances along with previous injuries may not be identified. These problems, which have been acknowledged as significant risk factors for injury, will be identified using the FMS. This movement-based assessment will pinpoint functional deficits related to proprioceptive, mobility and stability weaknesses. If these risk factors can be identified and addressed utilizing the FMS, then decreases in injuries and improved performance should follow.
